Select a torque wrench which indicates the threshold value at mid-range.
Torque the fastener to the manufacture's threshold torque.
Attach the proper size socket to the gauge.
Attach the socket with gauge to the fastener.
Turn the arm clockwise until it meets a firm point of resistance.
Zero the gauge by turning the housing until it lines up with the O°setting.
Connect a breaker bar ratchet or other square drive to the gauge.
Holding the arn assembly firmly,turn the fastener the number of degrees specified.The proper clamp load has now been set and no further torquing is needed.
